The Aga Khan University, Academic Projects Afghanistan(AKU-APA)

The Aga Khan University Academic Projects, Afghanistan (AKU-APA) is an extension of the Aga Khan University (AKU), chartered as an international University with campuses and academic programs in eight countries across three continents. AKU-APA, through various academic entities of AKU has been supporting national academic institutions in Afghanistan since 2002 for their capacity building. These include Ghazanfar Institute of Health Sciences (GIHS), Kabul and its regional institutions of Health Sciences, for nursing and midwifery education, Kabul Medical University for it baccalaureate program in nursing and for post graduate medical education (PGME), Ministry of Public Health for its Mental Health and Drug Dependency Resistance Program and also for its human resource redevelopment and teachers training programs. It is supporting the PGME program of French Medical Institute for Children (FMIC), Kabul. AKU-APA is also managed, mother and childcare research projects, Stunting Prevention Operational Research in Badakhshan. AKU also awarded scholarships to bright Afghan students to study baccalaureate and masters program in Nursing, Medicine and Education at the Aga Khan University Karachi.
