• Develop detailed designs and plans for transmission lines, including route selection, tower placement, and conductor specifications.

• Perform load flow, stability, and short-circuit studies to ensure the reliability and efficiency of transmission systems.

• Prepare technical specifications, design drawings, and documentation for transmission line projects.

• Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of transmission line projects.

• Coordinate with stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

• Supervise the construction of transmission lines, ensuring adherence to design specifications and safety standards.

• Expert proficiency in PLSCADD routing, sag-tension, profiling

• Advanced conductor sag-tension calculations

• Verification of clearances per safety standards

• Generation of drawings for AutoCAD and As-Built

• Preparation and validation of transmission line profiles

• Full command of IEC, IEEE, and local standards

• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks during construction.

• Resolve any technical issues that arise during construction and provide guidance to contractors.

• Develop and implement maintenance programs for existing transmission lines to ensure their continued reliability and performance.

• Identify opportunities for upgrading or enhancing transmission infrastructure.

• Perform inspections and assessments of transmission lines and recommend necessary repairs or improvements.

• Ensure all transmission line activities comply with local and international standards and regulations.

• Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals and environmental assessments.

• Stay updated with industry standards, best practices, and regulatory changes.

• Develop and enforce safety protocols to protect personnel and equipment during the construction and maintenance of transmission lines.

• Conduct safety training and awareness programs for project staff.

• Investigate and address safety incidents and implement preventive measures.

• Provide technical expertise and support to the project team, clients, and stakeholders.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to transmission line design, construction, and operation.

• Implement solutions to improve the efficiency and reliability of transmission systems.

• Prepare detailed reports on project progress, system performance, and any issues encountered.

• Maintain accurate records of all transmission line activities, including design documents, test results, and maintenance logs.

• Present findings and updates to stakeholders, including management and clients.

• Collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and external parties to ensure the successful integration of transmission lines with the overall power grid.

• Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.

• Facilitate communication and information flow among all project participants.


qualification

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.


Experience:

Minimum of 3-6 years of experience in power transmission and distribution, Steel Structure Engineering,

Familiar pathway record of successfully managing similar projects.


Technical Skills:


·        Ability in transmission line design software (PLS-CADD, PLS-TOWER).

·        Ms. Project and Primavera

·        Auto CAD

·        SAP, SAFE and Etabs

·        3D PLSCADD models for tower spotting

Strong understanding of transmission line standards, regulations, and best practices.


Other Skills:


Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
