- Prepare, review, and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns.
- Lead tax planning activities to optimize tax efficiency and reduce risk.
- Serve as liaison with the tax authorities
- Preparation of tax based financial statements
- Ensure full tax compliance in accordance with Afghan tax laws and regulations.
- Maintain and update all tax data and modules within Odoo ERP.
- Manage withholding tax deductions and ensure timely payments.
- Review contracts, invoices, and transactions for tax compliance.
- Prepare periodic tax reports and summaries for senior management.
- Maintain proper documentation and organized tax records.
- Coordinate and support internal and external tax audits.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and implement necessary compliance updates.
- Coordinate with Finance, HR, Procurement, and Operations to gather tax data.
- Implement and strengthen internal controls related to tax processes.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Support and guide staff involved in tax-related tasks.
- Train team members on tax procedures and Odoo tax modules.
- Provide feedback on performance related to tax accuracy and compliance.
- Ensure tax tasks are completed on time and with quality.
- Promote a compliant, transparent, and accountable work environment.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- A Master or higher degree and/or professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) is highly preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in taxation and finance, ideally within the construction, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong experience in tax filing, tax planning, and dealing with tax authorities.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Afghan tax law and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial management systems is essential.
- Hands-on experience with ERP system is required.
