Linux System Administration
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu, Debian, and Rocky Linux.
- Support the setup and management of physical and virtual server environments to ensure optimal performance, stability, and reliability.
- Perform routine system updates, patches, and package management to maintain security and system health.
- Configure system and application settings based on organizational and project requirements.
- Implement, manage, and troubleshoot server-based software applications, ensuring performance and compatibility.
System Monitoring & Security
- Monitor system logs, resource usage, messages, and alerts to identify and address potential issues or security threats.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security controls such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), SELinux configurations, and antivirus solutions.
- Support the enforcement of cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices to protect organizational data and infrastructure.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Assist in setting up, managing, and testing backup solutions to ensure reliable and consistent data protection.
- Contribute to the development and validation of disaster recovery (DR) plans to ensure rapid restoration of services during outages or failures.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for backup, recovery, and DR procedures.
Technical Support & Collaboration
- Provide technical support to end-users and internal teams regarding server access, application issues, and system performance.
- Assist in training team members and users on best practices for system usage, security, and resource management.
- Escalate complex issues to senior administrators and collaborate in troubleshooting and resolving advanced problems.
DevOps & Automation (Added Enhancements)
- Assist in implementing DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Work with tools such as Git, Jenkins/GitLab CI, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies (experience a plus, training provided).
- Contribute to improving automation, system provisioning, configuration management, and overall workflow optimization.

- Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent subject
- Two years of experience in above mentioned field.
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus.
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent.
- knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols. Basic Knowledge of scripting and automation tools.
