Key Responsibilities
● Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers and services (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL).
● Manage system updates, patches, and performance optimization.
● Monitor server health, storage, and resource utilization.
● Administer DNS, DHCP, web, and database services.
● Implement and manage system backups and disaster recovery plans.
● Configure, manage, and monitor firewall appliances (e.g., Fortinet, Sophos, Cisco, or pfSense).
● Manage NAT, VPN, VLANs, and routing configurations.
● Ensure reliable and secure connectivity across internal and external networks.
● Collaborate with ISPs to troubleshoot and optimize connectivity.
● Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies and procedures.
● Manage access controls, authentication, and identity management systems.
● Configure and maintain Cloudflare or similar services for DDoS protection, DNS security, and web filtering.
● Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and security audits.
● Respond to and mitigate security incidents or breaches.
● Keep systems compliant with organizational and industry standards.
● Manage cloud-based systems, virtual servers, and backups.
● Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for virtualized environments.
● Optimize cloud usage and security configurations.
● Maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
● Provide technical support and training to IT and non-IT staff as needed.
● Participate in planning and implementation of new ICT projects.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
● Relevant professional certifications (e.g., RHCE, CompTIA Security+, CEH, CCNA Security) are an asset.
Experience
● Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in system and network administration.
● Proven experience with Linux servers and security hardening.
● Strong understanding of firewall configuration, NAT, and network routing.
● Experience with Cloudflare or similar web security and CDN platforms.
● Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
Skills
● Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
● Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, and VPN technologies.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
● Good communication and documentation skills.
