- Structural implementation & Analysis
- Implement and analyze foundations, steel structures, gantries, control buildings, cable trenches, and other substation civil structures.
- Perform calculations for seismic, wind, ice, and live loads according to IEC, IEEE, and local standards.
- Prepare and review construction drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Standards & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with IEC 60826, IEC 61936, IEEE 80, ASCE, ACI, and local building codes.
- Verify structural design compatibility with electrical clearances and equipment specifications.
- Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Electrical Engineers, Project Managers, and Construction Teams.
- Provide technical support during equipment installation, civil works, and testing.
- Site Supervision and assistance with construction team
- Conduct site inspections and ensure construction conforms to approved designs and quality standards.
- Review shop drawings, material submittals, and contractor compliance reports.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare Technical Data Sheets (TDS), Bill of Quantities (BOQ), and structural calculation reports.
- Provide progress reports and highlight potential technical issues or deviations.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering.
- Certification in seismic/wind design is advantageous.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in substation civil and structural engineering (110kV-220 kV).
- Proven experience in foundation implements for heavy electrical equipment and steel substation structures.
- Experience in HV or EXHV substations. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of renewable integration substations. (Preferred)
- Experience in offshore or remote substations foundations. (Preferred)
Software Proficiency:
- SAP2000, ETABS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit (optional).
- Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools for complex structures.
Implementation Knowledge:
- Substation foundations, gantries, portal frames, control buildings, cable trenches.
- Load calculations: dead, live, seismic, wind, ice, and conductor tension.
Construction Knowledge & Documentation:
- Concrete mix design, steel fabrication, anchoring, and erection methods.
- Technical drawings, structural calculations, TDS, BOQ, and QA/QC reports.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and coordination abilities with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to prepare clear technical reports and present findings.
- Problem-solving skills with attention to safety and compliance.
- Engineering software and Microsoft Office
