duties

Community Mobilization & Awareness

  • Conduct community mobilization meetings, awareness sessions, and outreach campaigns to inform communities about project objectives, activities, and benefits.
  • Facilitate dialogue and build trust with community leaders, elders, women’s groups, and youth to encourage inclusive participation.
  • Raise awareness on cross-cutting issues such as gender equality, climate change, environmental sustainability, and nutrition.

Beneficiary Identification, Selection & Registration

  • Support the transparent and inclusive selection of project beneficiaries in line with organizational and donor criteria.
  • Conduct household visits, community profiling, and vulnerability assessments to identify eligible beneficiaries.
  • Collect and manage both biometric and non-biometric data of beneficiaries, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and proper record-keeping.
  • Utilize KOBO, ODK, SCOPE, and IDEA systems of FAO Afghanistan for data collection, beneficiary registration, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with the project team to validate and verify beneficiary lists before final approval.

Training & Capacity Building

  • Assist in organizing community-level trainings, workshops, and awareness sessions on agriculture, livelihood, health, or other project-related topics.
  • Mobilize community members (especially women and youth) to actively participate in training activities.
  • Provide follow-up support to beneficiaries to ensure they are applying the knowledge and skills gained during training.

Distribution Support & Monitoring (Including BDL)

  • Assist in the preparation and updating of the Beneficiary Distribution List (BDL) to ensure accuracy and compliance with project guidelines.
  • Facilitate smooth and transparent beneficiary distribution processes in coordination with logistics and technical teams.
  • Support the verification of beneficiaries against the BDL during distribution events.
  • Assist in managing crowd control, grievance handling, and documentation of distributed items.
  • Monitor the distribution process to ensure fairness, prevent duplication, and report any irregularities.

Community Engagement & Feedback Mechanisms

  • Act as a liaison between the organization and the community, ensuring timely communication of community needs, concerns, and feedback.
  • Establish and promote accountability and feedback mechanisms, ensuring that grievances are addressed appropriately.
  • Strengthen community ownership of project activities through participatory approaches.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain up-to-date records of mobilization sessions, trainings, beneficiary lists, BDLs, and distribution events.
  • Prepare activity reports, success stories, and field observations for submission to supervisors.
  • Assist in data entry and analysis of community-level information using digital tools such as KOBO, ODK, SCOPE, and IDEA systems.

Other Duties

  • Ensure that all activities are conducted with respect to cultural norms, traditions, and gender-sensitive practices.
  • Support emergency response interventions (e.g., rapid mobilization during natural disasters or crises).
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor in line with project objectives.

qualification

  • Bachelor’s in Social Work, Development Studies, Computer Science, BBA, or related field (Diploma holders with experience will also be considered).
  • Minimum 2 years of community mobilization experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English.
