- Conduct field inspections and supervise construction activities on transmission lines, substations, and general civil/electrical/mechanical works.
- Verify that materials, installations, and workmanship comply with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Prepare and update project-specific Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and quality documentation.
- Perform material testing (soil, concrete, asphalt, steel, etc.) and oversee third-party laboratory testing where required.
- Review contractor submittals, method statements, and quality plans for compliance.
- Monitor welding, grounding, earthing systems, tower erection, conductor stringing, and all HV/LV systems for quality control.
- Coordinate with construction, engineering, and procurement teams to resolve quality-related issues and NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
- Maintain complete quality documentation, inspection logs, calibration certificates, and QA/QC records.
- Assist with audits and client inspections, ensuring compliance with USACE, IEC, IEEE, ACI, ASTM, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Provide daily/weekly quality reports and updates to the QA/QC Manager and project stakeholders.
- Promote a strong quality culture among site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- Certifications in QA/QC, ISO 9001, or related standards preferred.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum 5-7 years in QA/QC roles within transmission lines, substations, and infrastructure projects.
- Experience with USACE, ADB, or donor-funded projects is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in quality control tools and procedures for HV transmission and civil engineering.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards (IEC, IEEE, ASTM, ACI, NEC, ISO).
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Office, and QA/QC reporting software.
Other Skills:
- Excellent inspection, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational ability.
- Effective communication and reporting abilities in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse engineering team.
