To work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager/Operation Manager:
Including but not limited to:
Project Planning and Management
- Prepare and organize a complete project schedule and ensure its proper implementation.
- Identify and manage project risks, including issues related to the supply of equipment and materials.
- Collaborate with engineering and contractual teams to ensure design alignment with technical and safety standards, as well as the project timeline.
Monitoring Project Progress
- Track construction progress and ensure compliance with the technical specifications of the project.
- Review and ensure adherence to all safety instructions and construction regulations.
- Human and Financial Resource Management
- Manage technical teams and contractors involved in the construction and installation of substation equipment.
- Monitor the project’s budget and expenses to ensure they do not exceed the allocated budget.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Prepare and submit periodic progress reports to the head office management and relevant authorities.
Quality Management
- Ensure that all implementation stages comply with quality control standards.
Compliance with Regulations and Standards
- Ensure the project complies with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Manage necessary permits and approvals for the operation of the substation
- Civil Engineer/Power Engineer
- At least 5-7 years of experience in a similar position
- Having experience in the substation or transmission line is an advantage.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant work experience in construction project management.
- Proven track record of managing at least 1–2 substation projects, preferably from initiation through commissioning.
- Hands-on experience in the planning, coordination, and supervision of substation construction and installation activities.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of engineering design, substation construction processes, and installation of electrical and civil components.
- Proficient in project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and MS Office Suite.
- Solid knowledge of construction safety standards, quality control procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Experience in risk assessment, budgeting, and cost control.
Management and Communication:
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams including engineers, contractors, and site technicians.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Dari or Pashto is a plus).
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and government agencies.
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work on-site project. (Arghande 500KV Substation)
- Ability to handle high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.
