duties

  • Lead and manage all technical activities and personnel on site.
  • Implement construction work according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Supervise daily site operations to ensure smooth execution of all activities.
  • Handle project accounting, budget tracking, and risk minimization.
  • Optimize resource use through effective management of materials, equipment, and labor.
  • Manage project personnel, subcontractors, equipment, and other resources.
  • Control and monitor financial aspects, including fuel usage, machinery rent, and material waste.
  • Ensure construction activities adhere to the project schedule.
  • Foster teamwork and boost staff morale in alignment with company goals.
  • Prepare and implement daily and weekly task plans based on the project timeline.
  • Lead quality control, safety, administration, logistics, and finance functions on site.
  • Provide technical solutions and resolve issues arising during the project.
  • Coordinate with the main office for timely provision of resources, materials, and financial support.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and communicate challenges and required solutions to the main office.
  • Estimate and request required materials throughout construction phases.
  • Ensure materials and equipment received are compliant with specifications and properly stored.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and QC team to maintain checklists, logs, and monitoring tools.
  • Maintain and organize all project documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.

qualification

Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil/Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management.

Certifications: PMP, OSHA, or similar.

 

Experience:

Minimum 8 years of experience in project management and minimum 5 years of work experience as project or site manager specifically in substation and transmission line projects.

 

Languages:

Fluency in English (required) and local languages (e.g., Pashto, Dari)

 

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera.

✔ Substations:

Primary equipment (transformers, circuit breakers, CTs/VTs).

Secondary systems (SCADA, relay protection, metering).

Transmission Lines:

Tower assembly (lattice, monopole) and conductor stringing.

Sag-tension calculations and corona effect mitigation.

Software/Tools:

ETAP (for fault studies).

CADD (for transmission line design review).

Strong knowledge of construction methods (civil/structural/MEP).

 

✔ Other Skills:

Leadership and crisis management.


Reporting & Accountability:

Submit weekly/monthly reports Project Director/Head of Engineering and Clints.

Daily: Progress photos & obstruction logs.

Weekly: Drons/Spatial patrol reports (for transmission lines).

Monthly: Insulator contamination test results.

Ensure all records are audit-ready and comply with organizational standards.
