duties

Engineering & Technical Responsibilities

  • Interpret and apply technical drawings, SLDs, layout plans, and construction specifications.
  • Inspect electrical installations such as transformers, switchgear, poles, conductors, cables, grounding, and protection systems.
  • Ensure correct installation practices for OHTL, LV/MV/HV distribution, and substation equipment.

Quality Control & Safety

  • Conduct routine site inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Verify materials, tools, and equipment as per project requirements.
  • Support the enforcement of safety procedures, PPE usage, and safe working methods.

Site Coordination & Supervision

  • Assist the Site Manager in supervising daily activities and guiding technicians and contractors.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and site teams to ensure work sequences follow the project schedule.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and energization activities with technical accuracy.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare daily progress reports, inspection requests (IRs), and material usage records.
  • Record measurements, site quantities, and prepare documentation required for billing and certification.
  • Report technical issues, delays, or material shortages to the Site Manager or Project Manager.

Problem-Solving & Execution Support

  • Identify field issues early and recommend technical solutions.
  • Ensure work aligns with quality standards, project timelines, and approved drawings.
  • Support resolution of installation challenges and site modifications when required.Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project, and electrical estimation software.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematic drawings, and specifications.
  • Skilled in preparing quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities (BoQs), and cost estimations for electrical works.
  • Knowledge of electrical standards, codes, and best practices for power projects, including 220/110/20 KV Transmission Lines and Substations.
  • Familiarity with material availability, market rates, and procurement processes for electrical equipment.
  • Ability to verify site measurements and reconcile them with design documents for accurate estimations.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering may be accepted for candidates with strong electrical project experience.


Qualification & Experience:

  • 3–5 years of site engineering experience in electrical distribution, OHTL, and substation projects.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction standards, power systems, and installation practices.
  • Experience in interpreting technical drawings, engineering documents, and BOQs.
  • Familiarity with utility authority procedures, inspection requirements, and approval processes.
  • Experience preparing site reports, measurements, and technical documentation


Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of LV/MV/HV electrical distribution and transmission line systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and implement engineering drawings, SLDs, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience in installation of transformers, panels, switchgear, poles, insulators, conductors, cables, and grounding systems.
  • Knowledge of quality inspection methods and electrical safety standards.
  • Experience with electrical testing, commissioning, continuity checks, insulation tests, and equipment verification.
  • Strong measurement and quantity calculation capability.
  • Ability to prepare technical reports and daily site documentation.
  • Understanding of work sequencing and basic project scheduling.
