· Review project scope, specifications, and approved drawings to ensure clarity on design intent and technical requirements.
· Verify that the latest approved documents, material submittals, and method statements are available and implemented on site.
· Supervise installation of MV/HV electrical equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, busbars, protection and control panels, and auxiliary systems.
· Oversee and ensure compliance of all installation and construction activities with approved designs and standards.
· Support construction teams to maintain quality, progress, and adherence to safety protocols.
· Implement and maintain the project’s approved Quality Control Plan (QCP) for electrical works.
· Conduct and document inspections and quality checks during each construction phase.
· Perform or witness site testing for HV, MV, and LV systems including relay calibration, insulation resistance, contact resistance, and other relevant tests for 110kV and 220kV networks.
· Coordinate with the testing laboratory and schedule all required field tests.
· Record and submit daily test and inspection reports to the main office.
· Inspect incoming materials to verify conformity with approved submittals and technical specifications.
· Ensure proper handling, storage, and preservation of materials and equipment.
· Maintain updated records of material inspections and acceptance status.
· Supervise grounding system installation, tower erection, and stringing works in accordance with project requirements.
· Conduct and document all relevant electrical tests and quality checks for substation activities.
· Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports reflecting progress, test results, and corrective actions.
· Maintain accurate records, checklists, and non-conformance reports.
· Assist in preparing project closeout documents, including test certificates, as-built drawings, and O&M handover materials.
· Organize and participate in pre-construction, progress, and QC meetings with site teams, subcontractors, and DABS representatives.
· Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on quality and technical matters.
· Ensure all site works comply with approved method statements, safety procedures, and DABS standards.
· Take immediate corrective actions for any safety or quality deviations.
· Plan for electrical utility interfaces and underground systems as needed.
· Work extended hours when required to meet critical deadlines.
· Perform other related duties as assigned by the management.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in substation projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical installation, testing, and commissioning for HV/MV systems.
Familiar with quality control procedures, inspection standards, and documentation for electrical works.
Solid understanding of HV, MV, and LV testing procedures, including relay and protection system tests.
Holding a valid Construction Quality Management (CQM) or related certification will be an advantage.
Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a site-based environment.
