- Familiar with the design requirement of MOE (Ministry of Water and Energy).
- Ability to design and review the dam structures.
- Site visit and monitor form the ongoing project and prepared the comprehensive report to the top
- management according to the Drawing, BoQ, Specification, and contract of the project.
- Prepare the review and remarks comment on submitting the calculation and drawing of the consultant.
- Review, provide remarks and approval of the shop drawing and compare the quantity based on the original contract BoQ.
- Travel to the project site for solving the design issue, quantity, and evaluate the project from the design aspect.
- Attend a meeting with supervision consultants and contractors.
- Review bridges, culverts, and Retaining walls, calculation, and design drawing for the project according to the BOQ, SOW, and Standards.
- Review overall design calculation and design drawing of bridges as per Contract requirement.
- Review and comments of Bridges component such as Deck Slab, Graders, Pier Cap, Pier Column, Abutment & Pier Foundation According to AASHTO LRFD and AASHTO Guide Specifications for LRFD Bridge Seismic Design AASHTO-1Ed-2009
- Review, reanalysis, and design of Superstructure and Substructure of Bridges for Live load, dead load, dynamic load, wind load, temperatures, and seismic load (Response spectrum & Pushover) load based on AASHTO Guide Specifications for Seismic.
- Review the Geotechnical report of the bridge for the foundation of bridges.
- Review, reanalysis, and design of the Retaining wall (Stone Masonry & RCC) based on AASHTO LRFD.
- Review, reanalysis, and design of Reinforcement Concrete/ Precast Box Culverts.
- Review, analysis, and design of Pre-stressed girder based on AASHTO LRFD and CSI Bridges.
- Review, reanalysis, and design of reinforced concrete bridges (T-Beam) based AASHTO LRFD.
- Review, analysis, and design of bearing (elastomeric bearing) based on AASHTO LRFD and CSI Bridges.
- Prepared modified shop drawings of superstructure and substructure of bridges.
- Review, analysis, and design of diaphragm (Cross girder) and Crash Barrier based on AASHTO LRFD
- Review, analysis, and design of Abutment, Pier, and Pier foundation (Pile foundation).
- Review and Prepared BOQ for Sub and Super Structure of Bridges.
- Re-analysis of the Box culvert and Retaining wall using CSI-Bridges, SAP2000, and STAAD.Pro for the appropriate section considers the economy, stiffness, and strength.
- Review and provide remarks on scour depth of Riverside retaining wall and bridges according to the H&H reports.
- Perform and review the response spectrum analysis for bridges based on the (ABDC) Afghanistan Bridges design Code and consider the economy of bridges.
- Analysis and prepared the appropriate section for the Gabion mattress, Gabion wall & Breast wall.
- Assess Site Engineer for implementation of site work (Rebar spacing, dimension, concreting of structure, drawing issue, Pile test)
- Analysis/ review depth score and waterway of bridges based on hydrology data. Review and Prepared BOQ for Sub and Super Structure of Bridges.
- Check and review the Structure and drain structure located in the plan, profile, and cross-section and modified for the appropriate location.
- Review the submitted methodology of the Pile test of bridges based on the Standard (ASTM).
- Review and reanalysis of design stages (35%, 65%, 90%, and 100%) of Bridges, Culverts, and Retaining Walls (Stone Masonry and RCC).
- Design/ Review all components of the building (Provincial building of MPW For proposed Highway), such as design, drawing, and quantity.
- Check the stability of the overall structure.
- Prepared quantity and cost breakdown for various structures.
- Periodic meeting with the contractor and consultant regarding the site issue and design and BOQ.
- The contractor claims several times extra quantities and submitted several shop drawings for obtaining extra quantities. We have reviewed; calculation analysis based on the site and BOQ and provides an appropriate response to the claim of the contractor.
- Participate in the variation order of project, negotiation, provide rate analysis based on the market price and FIDIC instruction and convince the contractor to finalize the variation order.
- Review the contract, Specification, and Rate analysis of projects for the controlling of contractor additional claims and provide engineering judgment justification.
- Check and review the test result of concrete, soil, and bitumen based on the ASTM, AASHTO, FP 14, and project spec.
- Review and check the bridge pile load test methodology, performance of test, and result.
- Review and provide comments to the consultant and contractor for the rectification of rigid pavement defects.
- Review and check the volume report, dimension, and area of all BOQ items in the submitted IPC.
- Review and provide comments on the submitted Shop drawing, As build drawing, and all BOQ items.
- Review and modify the Specification of the project according to the FHWA, FP14…etc.
- Review and measurement of all quantity of projects during implementation and after completion and provide engineering judgments.
- Finally, review, check of drawings, control of quantity, and daily contact with supervision consultant regarding project structures work is our aim to achieve sustainable and economically implemented structures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 7–10 years of structural engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Proficient in structural engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETABS, SAFE, Cad dam, SAP200 and CSI Bridge Tekla).
- Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
