Accountabilities:

-           Supervising, supporting and evaluating the team under his/her responsibility particularly MCH supervisors, female doctos, midwives, community midwifes and other related staff in her team such as cleaners. Planning and organizing their work (areas, days, absences, visits, holidays, etc) and coaching them in their work with special focus in following all appropriate protocols and procedures

-           Ensuring team work and a professional relationship between maternity and other departments.

-           Supervising the clinical activities in all the maternity departments and activities such as ante-natal consultations, delivery and after delivery follow up, post-natal consultations, family planning consultations, new-born vaccinations and liaising with the Medical Doctor about the patients who need special care times, visiting hours, etc.

-           Ensuring that the staff on duty knows, implements and follows at all times the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control in the medical premises ensuring high standards of hygiene in the working environment.

-           Ensuring that all staff using medical devices are qualified and trained, cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols, reporting any malfunction to the project biomedical service.

-           Being responsible for the department-related pharmacy activities (stock and consumption monitoring) as well as maintenance of the medical equipment.

-           Being responsible for ensuring that all the administrative procedures, patients’ data and documents are filled in correctly and registered for compiling monthly reports reflecting the activity in the department.

In certain contexts, being responsible for ensuring that the maternity staff is able to identify, receive and provide care to the victims of the SGBV in collaboration with the Obs & Gyne MD and following the protocols.


Context Specific Accountabilities:

-           Follow up of implementation of RMNCAH activities in the provinces.

-           Analyze developments and suggest actions for improvement of activities in the field level.

-           Regular field visits to MAGNA projects in the provinces.

-           Provide guidelines and protocols to the field team for activities related to RMNCAH topics.

-           Update field team on new changes regarding RMNCAH projects’ component.

-           Follow up the implementation of the RMNCAH M&E plan in the provinces

-           Use positive experiences from one province to another province.

-           Analyze RMNCAH projects’ staff capacities and gaps, based on project implementation results and staff performance evaluation.

-           Discuss training needs and propose related training for RMNCAH project staff; internally and externally organized.

-           Follow up the methodology, objectives, participants and contents of the RMNCAH training set up in the province.

-           Participate in relevant ToT trainings on national and provincial levels.

-           Provide recommendations and on-job training to Provincial MCH supervisors.

-           Support and provide internal training for MAGNA field team regarding RMNCAH.

-           Facilitate collection and report-drafting of RMNCAH components on monthly base.

-           Revision of different RMNCAH projects’ report-drafts, clarifications with field teams, and finalization of relevant monthly and other reports to relevant stakeholders.

-           Submission of consolidated reports to relevant health and RMNCAH stakeholders, on national, regional and provincial levels.

-           Receiving feedback from relevant authorities and transferring their findings to the field.

-           Contribute to quarterly and interim reports.

-           Contribute to interim and final projects’ reports.

-           Prepare visit ToRs and post-filed visit reports.

-           Actively collaborate and coordinate with other Managers and senior officer in Medical Unit on relevant program topics.

-           Contribute with RMNCAH program bullet points to the MAGNA Kabul Office coordination meetings.

-           Prepare herself and participate on quarterly/ monthly review meetings.

-           Preparation for relevant MoPH meeting related to RRMNCAH.

-           Participation in MoPH meeting related to RRMNCAH.

-           Collect guidelines, policy, strategy and tools related to RMNCAH.

-           Analyze of MoPH policies and strategies related to RMNCAH.

-           Ensure that MAGNA RMNCAH projects are harmonized with MoPH policies and recommendations.

-           Attend and/or ensure participation on the meetings, workshops and other events organized with others partners (UNICEF, WHO, UNFPA, NGOs, etc.) on RMNCAH.

-           Investigate and collect information on the possibility of external training related to RMNCAH.

As per above tasks, constantly assesses MAGNA ongoing SRH activities, identify possibilities for additional activities and propose new RMNCAH related projects.

qualification

Education:

Female MD from recognized university

MPH and/or gynecologist are preferred 


Experience/ requirements:

At least 5 years’ experience in the same field

Knowledge of BPHS and EPHS projects

Knowledge of HMIS

Be able to write good analytic and technical reports

Having good communication skills

Good manager and team capacity oriented

Rigorous and autonomous in her work

Committed and able to travel to different provinces.
