Reconciliation Officer

duties

1. Daily reconciliation of department transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.

2. Perform reconciliations of Nostro Accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.

3. Conduct reconciliations of DAB (Da Afghanistan Bank) accounts in compliance with regulatory standards and resolve discrepancies promptly.

4.  Execute end-of-day reconciliation and prepare summary reports for Head of Payment & Settlement.

5. Scan, record, and archive daily transaction documents in line with organizational policies.

6. Maintain proper filing systems and coordinate with the archive department for secure storage.

7.  Prepare and submit reconciliation and exception reports to the Head of Payment & Settlement.

8. Support audits and compliance reviews by providing reconciliation records and explanations after the approval of Head of Payment & Settlement.

9. Prepare and submit reports assigned by the Head/Dy Head of Payment & Settlement

10.Undertake any additional tasks assigned by the Head/Dy Head of Payment & Settlement.


qualification

Educational Qualifications

·  Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Certifications in banking operations or payment systems are a plus.

· 2–3 years of experience in banking operations, payments, or reconciliation processes.

·  Familiarity with clearing and settlement platforms is preferred.

Competencies Required

·  Understanding of payment processing workflows and settlement procedures.

·  Technical knowledge of reconciliation processes and banking software.

·  Proficiency in MS Excel, SWIFT, or core banking systems.

·  Strong attention to detail for transaction accuracy.

·  Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.

·  Understanding of regulatory requirements for payment and settlement processes.

·  Awareness of risk management in transaction processing.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
