Minimum requirements:

Education: 

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, business management, administration, finance, or any other relevant field of discipline.
  • A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

Work Experience:

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in managing and overseeing a broad range of office, guesthouse, and administrative functions.
  • Experience in a UN system agency or an organization which served in an emergency context is considered as an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team from diverse backgrounds is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships, across internal and external stakeholders, is required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate among multiple stakeholders, to achieve goals/results is required.
  • Experience in database packages, web-based management systems and ERP systems (preferably SAP financial modules) is considered as an asset.
  • Demonstrated contract and service delivery management, is an asset.

Language Requirements: 

  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the local language of the duty station is highly desirable. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

Desirables:

Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
