As the Project Manager / Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering high-impact financial system implementations. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Project Leadership & Management
- Lead the full project lifecycle—from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Define clear project goals, milestones, and deliverables aligned with strategic objectives.
- Develop detailed work plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Oversee financial management of the project, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements.
Technical Oversight
- Supervise system design, customization, and integration of financial software solutions.
- Coordinate user requirements analysis, system configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Ensure quality assurance and data integrity throughout implementation phases.
- Provide technical guidance on IT infrastructure, data migration, and security protocols.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between vendors, microfinance institutions (MFIs), donors, and regulators.
- Facilitate collaboration and communication across multiple partners and teams.
- Negotiate project scope, timelines, and deliverables with external and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain strong relationships to ensure alignment and long-term sustainability of project outcomes.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Lead, mentor, and motivate multidisciplinary project teams.
- Build local capacity by transferring knowledge and best practices to client staff.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous professional development within the team.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Develop and track performance indicators to measure project success.
- Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and maintain issue logs.
- Prepare progress reports, status updates, and final project documentation for senior management and donors.
- Conduct post-implementation reviews and ensure lessons learned are integrated into future initiatives.
Strategic & Operational Support
- Contribute to digital transformation strategies and innovation planning within partner organizations.
- Support proposal development, project design, and business development efforts where relevant.
- Represent the organization in technical forums, donor meetings, and sectoral conferences.
- Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Banking & Finance, or related fields.
- At least 7 years of proven experience managing large-scale financial software implementation projects.
- Demonstrated leadership in microfinance/banking digitization initiatives, especially in developing or fragile contexts.
- Proven ability to coordinate with vendors, MFIs, donors, and regulatory authorities.
- Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
