duties

Project Management & Leadership

  • Lead and manage all phases of the 500 kV substation line-bay and reactor-bay project from initiation to close-out.
  • Oversee overall management and operations of the 500 kV project, ensuring full alignment with client requirements and company policies.
  • Establish and lead the project team, defining clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
  • Obtain senior management approval when required and ensure ongoing tracking, analysis, and resolution of issues related to, scope, schedule, and resources.
  • Facilitate strong communication with clients, stakeholders, engineers, contractors, and field teams.

2- Planning, Scheduling & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project schedules, progress reports, risk assessments, and financial forecasts.
  • Submit weekly progress reports starting from the commencement of site construction activities.
  • Submit formal written progress reports to the Employer/Project Manager covering all aspects of the project.
  • Maintain on-site records of daily executed quantities in a site journal.
  • Develop quarterly, monthly, and weekly work plans and progress review reports.
  • Conduct regular project meetings to monitor status, identify issues, and ensure timely resolution.

3- Technical Coordination & Compliance

  • Coordinate design reviews, procurement activities, equipment delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Ensure adherence to all technical specifications and compliance with national and international electrical standards.
  • Manage and prepare physical and electrical project submittals.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and quality management policies and procedures.
  • Assure implementation of all applicable quality standards throughout the project.

4- Contract, Cost & Risk Management

  • Prepare, evaluate, and negotiate contracts, and manage all associated work.
  • Verify contractor bills and reconciliation statements.
  • Develop, monitor, and update project cash flow on a regular basis.
  • Apply appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Assess project risks, implement mitigation strategies, and prepare contingency plans.
  • Oversee the performance of contractors, suppliers, and consultants, ensuring contractual and technical compliance.

5- Issue Resolution & Operations Support

  • Resolve technical and operational issues arising during project execution.
  • Coordinate and resolve problems between the client and construction teams and communicate issues to relevant internal departments for corrective action.
  • From the start to the end of the warranty period, prepare special reports for any incidents such as equipment failure, disturbances, accidents, structural collapses, or switchgear trips, detailing the causes and operational impact.

6- Field & External Coordination

  • Travel to client sites, field locations, and vendor facilities as required.
  • Coordinate the successful execution of project plans, including safety, scope, cost control, schedule adherence, cash flow, quality, and risk management.
  • Communicate project status regularly to all project team members and stakeholders.

7- Documentation & Control

  • Establish and manage proper project documentation and record-keeping procedures.
  • Ensure all project activities are properly documented, tracked, and archived.


qualification

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Experience:

  • Total work experience 7 years, experience in similar work 5 years.
  • Proven experience with 500 kV or similar high-voltage systems is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts is an advantage.
