Minimum requirements:

Education:

  • A University degree in international development, data analytics, international development, business administration, financial management, social sciences, public administration, statistics, planning or development management., or in other relevant areas of study.

Experience: 

  • A minimum of two years of relevant professional work experience in the following areas in environmental sustainability and in the design, implementation and preferably monitoring of environmental impact assessments and management plans, coordinating grievances redressal mechanisms in humanitarian programmes, and/or experience with Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) and/or Protection Mainstreaming is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners, including grassroots community members, religious and youth organizations, and authorities at different levels; familiarity with tools and approaches of communications for development.
  • Ability to work and adapt professionally and effectively in a challenging environment; ability to work effectively in a multicultural team of international and national personnel.
  • Experience in training and development of training materials is required.
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing is required. · Experience in report writing in English for UN and donor audiences is required.
  • Experience in working with UNICEF, or another UN agency is an asset.

Language Requirements: 

  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

Desirables:

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
