- Design and optimize process systems such as separators, heaters, stabilizers, gathering unit, dehydration units, and gas processing equipment.
- Develop and update Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Perform mass and energy balance calculations for oil, gas, and water streams.
- Optimize production processes to reduce losses, energy consumption, and downtime.
- Provide daily technical assistance to field operations and control room teams.
- Analyze process parameters and troubleshoot field processing issues.
- Recommend operational adjustments to stabilize production and meet specifications.
- Monitor performance of key processing equipment (pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, separators).
- Ensure all processing operations comply with international oil and gas standards (API, ASME, ASTM).
- Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, and risk assessment studies for new and existing facilities.
- Support implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Identify hazards and propose safety improvements.
- Conduct performance monitoring for separation efficiency, gas quality, crude oil specifications, and dehydration levels.
- Evaluate process upsets and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
- Prepare technical reports, operational guidelines, and improvement recommendations.
- Use simulation software (HYSYS, Aspen HYSIM) to model process behavior.
- Assist in engineering design reviews for new projects or plant modifications.
- Support procurement by preparing technical specifications for process equipment.
- Provide supervision during installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of processing units.
- Participate in start-up activities and ensure stable plant operation.
- Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or Petroleum Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- 5–7 years of experience as a process engineer in the oil & gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Oil & gas separation processes
- Dehydration and desalting
- Gas sweetening and compression
- Fluid mechanics & thermodynamics
- Proficiency in simulation tools (HYSYS, Aspen Plus).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
