- Promote community-based nutrition and hygiene messages in areas of operation by spending time with communities (including in child-friendly and literacy-friendly ways).
- Undertake regular community meetings and promote the services on offer by the Clinic to local communities.
- Preventing absentees from the program and re-enrolling defaulters from OPD SAM program back to the program by conducting home visits.
- Identify barriers to access and inform the Project Coordinator.
- Coordinate activities of the project with health Shuras and community elders to ensure that key stakeholders are engaged in the project.
- Participate in the capacity building activities of the project and deliver training where appropriate.
- Lead on the organization and delivery of awareness-raising campaigns that focus on key health and nutrition messaging.
- Promote the importance of maternal and newborn health and nutrition including attachment, stimulation and wellbeing in situations of malnutrition and newborn health
- Meeting with Psychosocial Officers on a weekly basis to share information, identify trends and align messages
- Manage Community Health Workers (CHW) through setting monthly plans, on the job training, supervision, and review of activities under the CHW scope.
- Ensure the CHWs have appropriate kits and are equipped with knowledge in social behavioral communication strategies to make a difference in the health practices of the community.
- Provide gapful support whenever needed within the clinic.
Education:
- Obtained 12 grade, Nursing, Midwifery degree.
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ work experience, particularly in the field of health and Nutrition
- Experience, public outreach/ counselling, community mobilization, coordination with stakeholders.
- Strong Command on Pashto/Dari
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-ethnic team and take on diverse tasks.
- Working experience in the targeted province particularly in Roy-e Douab and Khuram Wa Sarbagh Districts and familiar with concerned community, geography and culture.
