duties

  • Create training schedules for all sessions of WHO/MoPH-approved courses (e.g. BEmONC, Family Planning), track and report on outcomes, and maintain training records. 
  • Train new staff in organisational policies and procedures and apply appropriate training methods tailored to specific purposes or audiences. 
  • Gather and evaluate feedback from participants, facilitators, clinical instructors, and management to identify areas needing improvement. 
  • Attend seminars and meetings to identify innovative training methods and incorporate them into programme delivery. 
  • Recruit and train trainers, clinical instructors, and facilitators; delegate training tasks and evaluate performance. 
  • Promote and market Lapis/UNICEF Afghanistan Skills Development Programme training opportunities to clinical health workers and encourage participation. 
  • Inform participants of training schedules and track their progress. 
  • Recommend and prepare training materials and methods; order, maintain, and manage training equipment and facilities (skills labs, OPD, delivery, recovery, and neonatal rooms). 

Deliverables: 

  • Training schedules and reports on completed sessions. 
  • Training materials, modules, and updated records. 
  • Evaluation reports with feedback from participants and facilitators. 
  • Final reports documenting outcomes, challenges, and recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • University degree in Medicine, Midwifery, Nursing, Public Health, or related field (Master’s in Public Health is an asset). 
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in health project management, training, and capacity building in Afghanistan. 
  • Strong background in training programme design and management. 
  • Experience in liaising with MoPH structures, NGOs, and hospitals. 
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills. 
  • Familiarity with donor-funded projects is an advantage. 

Skills and Competencies: 

  • Excellent time management, public speaking, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Strong liaison and problem-solving skills, particularly in sensitive operational contexts. 
  • Ability to supervise and motivate teams. 
  • Knowledge of traditional and modern training methods, instructional design, and e-learning platforms. 
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and analyse training data. 
  • Languages: Fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English (spoken and written).

  • Provide additional reports as required by donors or project leadership.
