As an MIS/Core Banking Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
System Implementation & Configuration
- Lead end-to-end implementation of core banking and MIS platforms, including system setup, customization, and deployment.
- Configure modules such as loans, deposits, savings, accounting, GL integration, and reporting.
- Ensure seamless data migration, validation, and integration across financial subsystems.
- Collaborate with vendors and IT teams to align system functionality with operational and business requirements.
System Administration & Maintenance
- Oversee the daily operation of the MIS/core banking system, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
- Monitor database performance, manage access controls, and ensure regular data backups.
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues to minimize downtime and operational disruption.
- Ensure timely software updates, patch management, and adherence to IT security standards.
Data Management & Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and optimize reports for internal management, regulatory compliance, and donor reporting.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial and operational data.
- Support the automation of routine reports and dashboards for executive decision-making.
- Provide data analysis to support monitoring, evaluation, and performance tracking.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with finance, operations, and compliance departments to ensure system outputs meet business and reporting needs.
- Liaise with software vendors, regulators, and technical consultants for ongoing system enhancements.
- Collaborate with auditors and regulatory bodies during inspections and data reviews.
Capacity Building & User Support
- Train and support end-users on system functionalities, procedures, and reporting tools.
- Develop user manuals, SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Promote best practices in data entry, usage, and compliance.
Quality Assurance & Innovation
- Lead testing and validation of new modules, system upgrades, and interface integrations.
- Recommend process improvements and technological innovations to enhance efficiency.
- Ensure that system configurations comply with accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Banking, or Information Systems.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience implementing and configuring core banking or microfinance management systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, GL integration, branch banking operations, and regulatory reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with system deployment, database management, and troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with major core banking platforms (e.g., Flexcube, T24, M2, Loan Performer, or similar).
- Knowledge of data migration tools, SQL queries, and reporting frameworks (Power BI, Crystal Reports, etc.).
- Familiarity with digital financial services, API integrations, and mobile banking systems.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
