The duties and responsibilities of a Mining Engineer include, but are not limited to, the below listed items:

  • Duties and Responsibilities of the Solid Minerals Mining Engineer:
  • Develop annual, monthly, and weekly extraction plans and closely monitor their implementation.
  • Design extraction patterns (Benches, Slopes, Pit Design) according to technical and safety standards.
  • Prepare plan maps, sections, and 3D mine models using specialized mining software.
  • Analyze geological and geotechnical data to determine the most suitable extraction method.
  • Calculate blasting parameters and supervise the precise execution of blasting operations.
  • Manage the loading and hauling cycle to improve productivity and minimize waste.
  • Assess wall stability and take necessary measures to prevent slope failures and collapses.
  • Calculate reserves, determine excavation volumes, stripping ratios, and average production grade.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, assess environmental hazards, and manage surface water, air pollution, and related environmental concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and collaborate with the environmental team in implementing reclamation plans and waste management.
  • Conduct daily site inspections and record actionable items to reduce operational risks.
  • Coordinate effectively between extraction, geology, surveying, geotechnical, and logistics departments; lead and supervise staff involved in extraction operations.
  • Propose operational improvement plans, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and provide technical advice to management regarding optimal extraction methods.


qualification

  • This job description is developed in accordance with Articles 7 and 34 of the Civil Servants Law of Afghanistan and includes the following minimum standards:
  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (Extraction); higher academic degrees are preferred.
  • Proficiency in one of the official languages of Afghanistan and familiarity (written and spoken) with the Turkish language.
  • Proficiency in mining and extraction-related software, including:
  • Surpac, AutoCAD, Datamine, Micromine, ArcGIS
  • Preference will be given to a qualified candidate who has experience in the extraction of construction and decorative materials (especially marble).

Qualification Requirement

  • At least a Bachelor of Mining Engineering, Solid Mines Extraction with a minimum of 2 years of related experience in the field. The applicants with master's degrees will be preferred.
