duties

  • Deliver primary healthcare services, including trauma care, reproductive health, and treatment of general ailments, as per BPHS and MoPH guidelines.
  • Conduct patient consultations, diagnoses, treatments, and referrals, ensuring quality care and adherence to standard protocols.
  • Provide prescriptions and educate patients on dosage, usage, and potential side effects of medications.
  • Maintain proper medical records, ensure accurate data entry in HMIS tools, and analyze/report health trends regularly.

Facility Management & Leadership

  • Oversee daily SHC operations including supervision, planning OPD sessions, and addressing administrative matters.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of SHC staff: midwives, psychosocial counselors, CHNW, and vaccinators.
  • Ensure timely procurement, distribution, and management of medical supplies, equipment, and documentation tools.
  • Ensure infection prevention and healthcare waste management standards are met and practiced.

Capacity Building & Supervision

  • Monitor and provide technical support to SHC staff to ensure healthcare services align with national and organizational standards.
  • Regularly supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing constructive feedback and mentoring.

Community Engagement & Outreach

  • Actively participate in community-based activities, awareness-raising sessions, and local health committee (CDC) meetings.
  • Maintain strong communication and coordination with community health workers and local elders.
  • Identify community-level issues affecting service delivery and report them promptly for action.

Monitoring, Reporting & Coordination

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all SHC activities and services.
  • Lead monthly coordination and review meetings within the facility and with health posts.
  • Work closely with the Project Supervisor and Sub-office to ensure the smooth functioning of SHC operations and logistics.

Education:

  • Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized medical university, with an official exit exam score.


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant clinical experience in BPHS health facilities or similar contexts.
  • Experience in health facility management, staff supervision, and community-based healthcare delivery preferred.
  • Strong background in public outreach, counseling, and coordination with local stakeholders.


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong command of Pashto and Dari (spoken and written).
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-ethnic teams and under challenging field conditions.
  • Familiarity with local culture, geography, and the healthcare landscape in Zabul Province.

Sound knowledge of national treatment guidelines and reporting tools (HMIS).
