- Mechanical Design & Planning
- Develop and review mechanical designs for solar plant structures, including mounting systems, trackers, HVAC for control rooms, and related infrastructure.
- Perform calculations for structural and mechanical components to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, design reports, and technical documentation for project stakeholders.
- Develop Mechanical Design Reports (MDR) for solar plant components in accordance with accepted engineering standards.
- Installation & Supervision
- Oversee the installation of mechanical structures, including solar module mounting systems, inverter pads, transformer platforms, and cooling or ventilation systems.
- Ensure proper installation practices, alignment, and secure assembly of mechanical components.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and commissioning teams for smooth integration of mechanical systems.
- Quality Assurance & Safety
- Verify that mechanical works comply with technical specifications, QA/QC standards, and HSE guidelines.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor mechanical works for accuracy, durability, and compliance.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions for mechanical deviations or non-compliance issues.
- Testing, Commissioning & Maintenance Support
- Participate in testing and commissioning of mechanical systems such as cooling, ventilation, and moving components (e.g., trackers).
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance plans for mechanical components to ensure optimal plant operation.
- Develop guidelines for routine inspection and servicing of mechanical systems.
- Coordination & Reporting
- Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other engineering teams for effective project execution.
- Prepare and submit progress reports, technical notes, and site observations to the Project Manager.
- Provide technical guidance to site technicians and support staff.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or relevant field in engineering.
- Experience: Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in mechanical engineering for large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and structural design for solar power plants.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, or similar mechanical works and preferably mechanical design software.
- Ability to perform mechanical calculations and generate design reports.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
- Other Requirements:
- Willingness to work at project sites and travel as required.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and engineering best practices.
