- Monitor, check, and analyze the midwives’, doctors’, Nurses’ CM Supervisors, Animators, and social workers' activities, offering professional support as required
- Train the staff and provide follow-up for continuous education sessions
- Follow-up on specific issues related to Health and safe motherhood, etc
- Analysis of project findings, including the mortality rate among program clients, and take such steps as necessary to report findings and to reduce the mortality rate.
- Participate in training sessions and meetings according to the Project Coordinator’s requirements
- Representing the organization with government clinics and other services, UNICEF, and the DoPH – in consultation with the Regional Manager (s) and Coordinator
- Qualitative and quantitative data collection to ensure data analysis of the project
- Reporting writing as required by line manager (s).
- Prepare and provide the health teams with the required medical equipment and medicine according to the available budget and health intervention requirements.
- Identify and report immediately about problems that may jeopardize the program goals
- Other duties that may be required
- Follow up on CMS cases, including the protection components, with social workers and CM supervisors.
- Identification of suitable places within the districts for MHTs and Fixed Health Centers with close coordination of DoPH and local communities.
- Serves as a positive role model for the organization.
- To be able to monitor and supervise the child protection unit, especially girls' activities in the region, and provide feedback to the Child Protection Unit
Protection
- Protection: Use observation skills to detect any behavioral changes or specific vulnerability in children that may be the reason for concern and share these observations with the immediate supervisor and the social workers' team at joint weekly staff meetings to determine appropriate responses.
- Ensure that all child protection-related activities are in line with child protection minimum relevant standards and enhance program/activities based on CPMS.

- Global Code of Conduct (GCC ) Child Safeguarding Policy (CSP), Policy on the Protection from sexual exploitation and Abuse (PSEA ), Directive on Staff Misconduct at Workplace and GBV, Operational Risk Management: Undertake to adhere to the Terre des Hommes safeguarding policy and the principles connected to children's rights
- Undertake to ensure the best possible practical implementation of the safeguarding policy (Global Code of Conduct) and the management of operational risks in his/her area of intervention and within his/her team.
- Make sure all volunteers and visitors sign/understand the Tdh Global code of conduct at a glance and my commitment to child safeguarding.
Safety & Security
- Conduct field visits with the consent of the line manager who checks the security of the area prior.
- Report instantly if you observe any security threat, hear any report of any suspicion, rumors about the safety of the staff and its beneficiaries
- Strictly follow Tdh security policy and regional security plan.

- University Medical degree holder, preferably in project management and social studies.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in managing health-related projects.
- Experience in managing and supervising Health projects.
- Experience working in the rural area and at the district level of Nangarhar province
- Know very well about Health issues in the province and how to reach out.
- Has worked in the Protection sector with government, NGOs, INGOs, or UN.
- Can present protection concerns verbally and in writing.
- Has a good understanding of core theories related to mother-child care and protection.
- Has good knowledge of the principles and approaches to protection programming.
- Has good working knowledge of national and international legal frameworks and conventions related to child care and protection, including the UN CRC, its Operational Protocols, and relevant ILO Conventions.
Professional competencies:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of current evidence-based obstetric care and internationally agreed global strategies and interventions for the reduction of maternal mortality, and how to operationalize these.
- Experience in applying Behaviour Change Communication models.
- Fluency in oral and written communication in English, including representation, liaison, and negotiation skills in Pashto and Dari.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel spreadsheets and budgeting).
