Key Responsibilities:
Assist with cataloging, shelving, and organizing physical and digital library materials.
Support the circulation desk: checking in/out books, handling reservations, and managing overdue notices.
Help maintain accurate records in the library management system (LMS).
Assist users in locating resources, using search tools, and accessing digital databases.
Participate in inventory checks and collection audits.
Help prepare materials for workshops, reading programs, or educational events.
Support library marketing initiatives, including displays, posters, or social media content.
Assist with basic maintenance of computers, printers, and media equipment.
Respond to general inquiries and provide support to library users.
Learning Outcomes:
Gain hands-on experience in library operations and services.
Develop familiarity with library software, classification systems, and digital tools.
Build user service and information management skills applicable to academic or public libraries.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Recently graduated from Library Science, Information Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- No experience is required
Skills:
- Familiarity with library cataloging systems (e.g., MARC, Dewey Decimal, Koha, or other LMS platforms).
- Basic organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable with basic IT tools and online research databases.
