- Design, lead and execute a comprehensive, risk-based internal audit strategy covering all business units, subsidiaries and regional operations.
- Assess design and operating effectiveness of internal control systems related to finance, procurement, operations, sales distribution and digital financial services.
- Monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements including Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) directives and telecom industry standards.
- Perform analytical reviews of financial statements and operational data to identify anomalies, inefficiencies and control gaps.
- Ensure proper revenue assurance controls and verification mechanisms for high‐volume telecom and digital payments transactions.
- Oversee audit processes related to inventory management, goods allocation, warehousing and distribution practices.
- Evaluate procurement lifecycle including vendor onboarding, bid evaluations, quotations, contract terms, invoice processing and statutory compliance.
- Conduct detailed transaction testing, reconciliations and variance analysis ensuring consistency, accuracy and transparency.
- Lead investigations of irregularities, suspected fraud, policy deviations or unethical behaviors while maintaining confidentiality and legal protocols.
- Provide management with actionable recommendations, risk mitigation strategies and compliance advice to strengthen organizational governance.
- Track and report progress of post-audit action plans ensuring timely remediation and accountability at all levels.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to promote a culture of compliance, operational discipline and continuous process improvement.
- Assist the company in preparing for external audits and regulatory inspections, ensuring adequate readiness and documentation.
- Develop audit policies, manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and audit checklists in alignment with international best practices (IIA standards).
- Plan and supervise audit team assignments, conduct performance evaluations and implement professional development programs for audit staff.
- Regularly present key findings, material risks and governance insights to senior leadership through formal reports and executive dashboards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a relevant field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CIA, ACCA, CPA or CA strongly preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive audit, finance or risk management experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Expert knowledge of internal audit frameworks, control testing methodologies and financial risk assessments.
- Strong background in telecom, digital payments or banking industries will be considered a major advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks; ERP system exposure desirable.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, report writing and presentation skills.
- High ethical standards, confidentiality, and proven ability to work independently with sound judgment under pressure.
