- Develop and implement the annual internal audit plan.
- Conduct audits of operations, finance, and Shariah-compliant financing activities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
- Prepare audit reports with findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions.
- Identify, assess, and monitor operational, financial, and Shariah compliance risks.
- Develop and maintain a risk management framework aligned with best practices.
- Recommend mitigation strategies and monitor the implementation of risk controls.
- Report key risks and risk trends to senior management and the Board.
- Ensure all audits and risk assessments align with Shariah principles.
- Monitor adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
- Coordinate with the Shariah Board for guidance on compliance issues.
- Advise management on improving internal controls, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct training and awareness sessions on internal controls, risk management, and Shariah compliance.
Education:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Economics.
- Professional certifications such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), ACCA, CPA, or CRMA (Certified Risk Management Assurance) are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of microfinance, banking laws, and regulatory frameworks.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in internal audit, risk management, or financial control, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
- Experience within the microfinance or banking sector is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement internal control and risk frameworks.
