duties

Gender Mainstreaming & Technical Support

  • Ensure gender considerations are fully integrated into project design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to program teams on gender-sensitive approaches.
  • Review project proposals, reports, and activities to ensure gender inclusivity and alignment with organizational policies.
  • Support the development of gender-responsive tools, guidelines, and checklists.

Training & Awareness Raising

  • Design and conduct training sessions, workshops, and awareness campaigns on gender equality, women’s rights, and prevention of gender-based violence (GBV).
  • Build the capacity of staff, community members, and partners on gender mainstreaming and gender-sensitive service delivery.
  • Facilitate dialogues with community leaders, men, women, and youth to promote equal participation and reduce gender-based discrimination.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Develop and track gender-sensitive indicators within project activities.
  • Collect, analyze, and report sex- and age-disaggregated data to measure progress on gender outcomes.
  • Prepare reports, case studies, and success stories highlighting gender equality and women’s empowerment achievements.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improving gender responsiveness in ongoing programs.

Women’s Empowerment Initiatives

  • Support initiatives that enhance women’s participation in leadership, decision-making, livelihoods, and community development activities.
  • Promote access to vocational training, education, and resources for women and girls.
  • Advocate for creating safe spaces and inclusive opportunities for women in project communities.

Coordination & Advocacy

  • Collaborate with local authorities, women’s groups, and other stakeholders to strengthen gender-focused initiatives.
  • Represent the organization in gender working groups, networks, and coordination meetings.
  • Advocate for policies and practices that advance gender equality and prevent gender-based violence.

Other Duties

  • Ensure compliance with organizational gender policy, donor requirements, and international standards.
  • Support emergency response operations with a focus on protecting and addressing the needs of women and girls.
  • Perform any other gender-related duties assigned by the supervisor in line with project objectives.

qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Gender Studies, Social Work, Development Studies, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in gender-focused programs.
  • Strong understanding of gender equality and empowerment.
  • Fluency in Dari, Pashto, and English.
