. Installation & Activation

• Install fiber optic cables from distribution points (e.g., FAT) to customer premises.
• Mount and configure ONT/ONU devices and connect them to customer equipment (router, modem, etc.).
• Ensure proper signal levels and connectivity during activation.
• Install and align wireless equipment such as antennas, radios, routers, and switches.
• Set up P2P and P2MP links as per design documents and geographic coordinates.
• Ensure proper grounding and secure mounting of equipment.

 

2. Splicing & Termination

• Perform precise fiber splicing using fusion splicing machines.
• Carry out connectorization and termination of fiber cables at designated points.
• Test, label, and document all fiber cores accurately.

Network Implementation

• Implement wireless connectivity based on network plans and technical designs.
• Configure radio parameters, SSIDs, channels, bandwidth, and security settings.

Performance Monitoring

• Monitor wireless links for signal strength, throughput, interference, and uptime.
• Use tools such as spectrum analyzers, link planners, and SNMP-based monitors to assess link quality.

 

3. Troubleshooting & Maintenance

• Identify and resolve service issues, including signal loss, fiber cuts, and equipment faults.
• Utilize OTDR, power meters, and other fiber testing tools for diagnostics and quality checks.
• Perform preventive maintenance when required.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, link degradation, or hardware faults.
• Perform periodic inspections and preventive maintenance of installed devices

4. Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of installation details, fiber routes, splicing locations, and customer data.
• Submit daily reports, including task completions and asset usage.
• Assist in updating GIS maps and network records as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of each link deployment, including location data, equipment used, MAC/IP addresses, and configurations.
• Update network topology maps and inventory lists regularly.

5. Customer Interaction

• Provide technical support to customers during installation and service calls.
• Ensure smooth service handover and customer satisfaction.
• Educate customers on the correct usage of FTTH equipment.

Field Operations

• Conduct routine field visits for inspection, support, and minor upgrades.

Ensure all work is completed safely, especially at elevated sites like towers

6. Safety & Compliance

• Adhere strictly to safety guidelines when working at heights, underground, or in confined spaces.
• Follow company protocols and industry standards for quality assurance and technical compliance.

Coordination & Reporting

• Work closely with NOC, Help Desk, and Planning teams to address network issues and deployments.
• Provide timely reports on link status, maintenance activities, and suggested improvements.
