- Advise on the learning design for foundational numeracy television programmes, including scope, sequence and progression across episodes and series.
- Translate international proficiency frameworks, including the UNESCO Global Proficiency Framework, into practical numeracy constructs for broadcast delivery.
- Define and prioritise essential foundational numeracy content for television, including number sense, place value, operations and mathematical reasoning.
- Design remediation pathways for learners who are age-appropriate for upper primary or lower secondary but have foundational numeracy gaps.
- Advise on appropriate levels of practice, repetition and review needed for effective learning through television. ▪ Identify and help avoid common pitfalls in non-curricular numeracy programming, including over-procedural teaching, weak conceptual grounding and insufficient practice.
- Work closely with production and education teams to ensure content is engaging, age-appropriate and mathematically sound.
- Support quality assurance of scripts and learning segments to ensure alignment with the numeracy framework and learning outcomes.
- Prepare concise technical guidance for internal teams, including progression notes and key dos and don’ts.
- Advanced degree or equivalent expertise in mathematics education, education or a related field.
- At least five years of experience designing foundational or remedial numeracy programmes, including for older learners.
- Strong command of evidence-based numeracy instruction, including conceptual understanding, representations and practice. ▪ Demonstrated ability to use international frameworks, including the UNESCO Global Proficiency Framework.
- Experience with television, radio, distance learning or other low-resource delivery modalities is a strong asset.
- Clear and effective communicator, with fluent written and spoken English.
