duties

  • Conduct accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inpatients, children, and female patients in line with approved clinical protocols.
  • Oversee, supervise, and organize all administrative and technical operations of the health facility.
  • Prescribe and recommend laboratory investigations as clinically indicated.
  • Monitor, supervise, and evaluate immunization program activities within the health facility.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the IMNCI and IMAM programs at the health facility.
  • Ensure effective implementation of the BPHS-MIAR-HMIS programs at the health facility.
  • Organize and facilitate on-the-job training sessions for health facility staff to enhance professional capacity.
  • Ensure the provision of health education and public awareness services to all clients attending the health facility.
  • Perform assigned duties for the UMCA/RPA office during official working hours in compliance with organizational requirements.
  • Obtain comprehensive and accurate medical histories in accordance with established guidelines to support appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
  • Prepare and submit daily, monthly, and quarterly activity reports to the relevant authorities in a timely manner.
  • Deliver quality health services to children and women in accordance with IMNCI and Reproductive Health (RH) guidelines.
  • Supervise and maintain all health facility equipment, prepare and update inventory lists, and submit procurement requests to the central office as required.
  • Coordinate closely with the pharmacy unit to ensure timely requisition and availability of medicines and laboratory supplies.
  • Conduct bi-monthly coordination meetings among all departments to strengthen collaboration and improve service delivery.
  • Adhere to the prescribed uniform and professional dress code while on duty.
  • Maintain professional conduct at all times and interact with clients respectfully, ethically, and courteously.
  • Demonstrate the ability to function as a primary care physician (general practitioner) as required, providing comprehensive medical care to a diverse patient population.
  • Establish and maintain professional, respectful, and effective relationships with patients and their families in order to promote a strong physician–patient report.
  • Actively engage in continuing medical education (CME) activities within the clinic, including participation in case presentations and professional medical discussions.
  • Maintain, safeguard, and ensure the proper use of all clinic-assigned equipment, including but not limited to computers, furniture, and medical instruments such as stethoscopes.
  • Adhere strictly to all policies, rules, regulations, and professional standards established by UMCA/RPA.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development by remaining current with advances in medical and obstetric knowledge, clinical guidelines, and best practices.

qualification

  • Medical Degree from a recognized institution, must successfully pass the EXIT EXAM.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in maternal and child health.
  • Proven 10 years of experience working with mother and children in a clinical or hospital setting is preferred.
  • Experience in managing health / psychosocial programming.
  • Good understanding of relevant cultural and sensitive issues.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • Able to speak/write in English, Pashto, and Dari with clarity and ease.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • The Candidate must have at least ten-year’ relevant work experience in BPHS-MIAR-HMIS related health facilities or similar working context / environment. Longer clinical work experience with relevant trainings in medical practice or health facility management is preferred.
  • Responsible for day-to-day health facility management, regular coordination with all staff, local community elders, and community health workers, and required response and feedback at health facility level. He/she will directly communicate any issue or conflict with local communities or stakeholders for support from the sub office and assigned project supervisor.
