• Follow up all customs-related processes until full clearance of shipments.
• Clearance and retrieval of shipments from official ports and customs departments.
• Obtain required permits for natural/medical items from the Ministry of Public Health – Directorate of Food & Drugs.
• Obtain pre-import approval for all shipments prior to arrival.
• Follow up declaration procedures, tariff classification, financial calculations, and legal documentation.
• Coordinate effectively with ports, customs offices, transit companies, and representatives.
• Prepare accurate reports and ensure timely submission to the central management.
• Perform all assigned duties by the supervisor as required.
• Ensure accurate and timely clearance of all incoming shipments.
1. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree
(Master’s degree holders in Management, Economics, Law, Logistics, or Supply Chain are preferred).
2. 2 to 5 years of proven and documented experience in customs clearance, import procedures, working with customs departments, or handling port operations.
3. Strong command of national languages Dari and Pashto
▫ Fluency in Pashto is a mandatory requirement.
4. Ability to communicate clearly and fluently in English.
5. Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet).
6. Strong abilities in report writing, official correspondence, documentation, and organized filing systems.
7. High level of work ethics, commitment, responsibility, honesty, and capability to work under pressure.
8. In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, declaration processes, tariff classification, ASYCUDA system, and import procedures related to natural and medical products.
9. Full familiarity with air and ground transit systems, international cargo procedures, and tracking/monitoring of shipments.
10. Strong communication and negotiation skills with transit companies, freight forwarders, cargo agencies, and logistics service providers.
11. Ability to coordinate efficiently with customs departments, ports, transit companies, and relevant governmental entities.
12. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, follow up effectively, and ensure timely clearance of shipments.
13. Willingness and readiness to conduct frequent official travel to provinces and border/custom ports.
