1. Full-Farm Operations Management
- Lead and manage all operations across 520 Jeribs, including crop cycles, greenhouses, equipment, and labor.
- Prepare and execute the seasonal farm plan, including crop selection, layout, land prep, fertilization, pest control, and harvest calendar.
- Establish daily, weekly, and monthly task schedules aligned with yield goals, input availability, and labor needs.
- Ensure the farm is segmented and assigned properly for diversified crop trials and specialized use.
2. Tomato Production Expertise
Oversee commercial tomato cultivation from nursery to harvest, including:
o Seed selection (resistant varieties)
o Germination, transplanting, and vegetative growth management
o Disease/pest identification and control (blight, fruit rot, leaf curl, etc.)
o Pruning, irrigation, fertigation, and pesticide scheduling
o Ensure optimal Brix level, color, firmness, and ripeness for processing factory supply
Track tomato yields per Jerib and identify gaps in expected vs. actual output.
3. High-Value Crop Cultivation
- Introduce and manage high-value, market-demand crops.
- Utilize greenhouse microclimate control for early production and better market prices.
- Align with Sales Team to grow crops based on demand forecasts and price trends.
4. Planning, Organization, and Leadership
Apply management principles (POLC):
o Plan: Seasonal and daily activities
o Organize: Tools, labor, land, logistics
o Lead: Supervise team and motivate performance
o Control: Monitor quality, progress, and deviations
Implement systems to ensure accountability, adherence to plans, and continuous improvement.
5. Labor Management and Staffing
- Recruit, assign, and supervise all daily and permanent laborers.
- Maintain verified attendance sheets, output logs, and task-based productivity reports.
- Provide training in pruning, planting, spraying, safe pesticide use, and post-harvest practices.
- Enforce labor cost efficiency output per person per day tracked and benchmarked.
6. Soil, Water & Fertilization Management
- Conduct regular soil testing and implement proper nutrient plans to boost yields.
- Optimize water use through drip irrigation and pump schedules, minimizing waste.
- Calibrate fertigation equipment and ensure proper mixing, timing, and frequency.
7. Harvest, Sales & Production Coordination
- Schedule harvesting to match factory processing capacity and sales orders.
- Manage sorting, grading, weighing, and packaging procedures at the farm.
- Coordinate with Sales Team and Transport/Logistics for timely delivery.
- Maintain logs of all produce moved, including quality grade, weight, buyer name, and selling price.
8. Input/Output & Asset Tracking
Keep real-time records of:
o All inputs purchased and consumed (fertilizer, pesticides, seeds, tools)
o All outputs dispatched or sold
o Equipment, fuel usage, repairs, and consumables
Avoid leakages, misuse, and ghost reporting through signed, verified forms.
9. Finance Coordination
Submit weekly updates to the Finance Department:
o Input purchases
o Labor costs
o Sales made from farm
o Inventory on hand
Provide accurate data for budgeting, cash flow, and cost-per-kg analysis.
Flag budget overruns and propose adjustments when needed.
10. Maintenance & Infrastructure Oversight
- Ensure greenhouses, irrigation, wells, tractors, and other equipment are in functioning condition.
- Maintain preventive servicing logs for all equipment.
- Respond quickly to infrastructure damage to avoid disruption in operations.
11. Reporting, Monitoring & Compliance
Submit reports covering:
o Daily activities, issues, and weather updates
o Weekly performance summaries (labor, yield, disease outbreaks, cost)
o Monthly budget and profit/loss reports
Comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company SOPs.
Education:
- Bachelor’s in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related fields (Master’s preferred)
Experience:
- 5+ years in managing large-scale, mixed-crop farms with tomato specialization
- Proven track record in increasing yields, managing costs, and building farm profitability
- Experience in greenhouse crop management, input tracking, and labor control systems
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of plant biology, pests, soil nutrition, and irrigation methods
- Ability to lead teams and enforce discipline
- Proficient in record-keeping (Excel, mobile apps)
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Integrity, accountability, and high attention to detail
