duties

Engagement Management:

  • Plan, execute, and finalize audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients, including complex and high-risk engagements.
  • Develop comprehensive audit strategies and detailed audit plans tailored to each client's specific needs and risks.
  • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure timely and profitable completion of audits.
  • Identify and assess risks and controls within the client's business environment.
  • Oversee the performance of audit procedures, including testing of controls and substantive testing.
  • Review working papers and documentation prepared by audit staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards and firm methodology.
  • Prepare and review audit reports, management letters, and other communications to clients.
  • Present audit findings and recommendations to clients' management and audit committees.

 Client Relationships:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, understanding their business and industry.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients during engagements, addressing their queries and concerns effectively.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for providing additional value-added services to clients.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
  • Supervise, mentor, and coach audit staff at various levels (seniors, associates).
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to team members to support their professional growth and development.
  • Participate in the performance evaluation process for audit staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.

 Technical Expertise and Quality Control:

  • Stay updated on the latest accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP as applicable), auditing standards (ISAs), and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all audit work is performed in accordance with professional standards, firm policies, and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and resolve complex accounting and auditing issues.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of firm-wide audit methodologies and best practices.
  • Business Development:
  • Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
  • Identify and pursue new client opportunities.

qualification

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be a qualified member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
  • A minimum of three years of experience in external audit within a reputable accounting firm.
  • Proven experience in managing audit engagements from planning to completion for a variety of clients and industries.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP as applicable) and International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).
  • In-depth understanding of internal controls and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
