The Hydro Mechanical Engineer will perform the following key tasks:
Design Review of Hydro Mechanical Structures:
- Review and validate design documents related to hydro-mechanical systems (e.g., turbines, gates, spillways, penstocks).
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Supervision and Installation:
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of hydro-mechanical equipment.
- Provide guidance and technical support to construction teams.
- Installation of Hydro mechanical Instruments.
Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and ensure the quality of materials and workmanship for hydro-mechanical components.
- Conduct inspections, witness tests, and verify equipment performance during factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT).
Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and structural engineering teams to ensure proper integration of hydro-mechanical components with other project systems.
- Participate in regular project meetings and provide status updates.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and submit progress reports, technical documents, and as-built drawings.
- Maintain detailed records of engineering decisions, changes, and test results.
- Prepare All submittals and RFI
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure that all hydro-mechanical engineering activities comply with the health, safety, and environmental standards of the project.
- Other jobs as per office requirements and needed .
4. Deliverables
- The Hydro Mechanical Engineer is expected to deliver the following:
- Detailed design review reports.
- Inspection and quality control reports.
- Installation and commissioning checklists.
- Test reports and performance assessments.
- As-built drawings and final project documentation.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Hydromechanics, or a related field.
Experience:
- at least 5 years
- Minimum of [5] years of experience in hydro-mechanical systems, particularly in hydropower or water infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in the design, installation, and commissioning of turbines, gates, valves, and associated mechanical systems.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in hydraulic and mechanical engineering software.
- Strong understanding of international design codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM, IEC).
- Experience with health, safety, and environmental regulations in large infrastructure projects.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Computer skills and programs in related filed
Reporting and Coordination
The Hydro Mechanical Engineer will report to the Project Manager and will coordinate closely with the civil and electrical engineering teams. Regular reporting will be required as part of project management.
