· Develop and implement HES management systems, guidelines, and procedures in line with UNICEF standards and regulations.
· Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and propose control measures to minimize health, safety, and environmental risks.
· Carry out regular site inspections and audits to monitor compliance with HES standards.
· Lead the development and delivery of HES training programs for staff, implementing partners, and contractors.
· Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
· Ensure environmental sustainability measures are integrated into project planning and execution.
· Monitor and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety resources.
· Maintain updated records of inspections, incidents, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
· Collaborate with program teams to ensure HES standards are included in contracts, tenders, and agreements.
· Support emergency preparedness and response planning related to health, safety, and environmental risks.
· Provide regular HES performance reports to senior management and contribute to donor reporting where required.
· Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor
· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Public Health, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred.)
· Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably with UN agencies, NNGOs, or INGOs.
· Good knowledge of international HES standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and local legislation.
· Experience conducting safety trainings, inspections, and incident investigations.
· Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
· Ability to work effectively in multicultural, high-pressure environments.
· Excellent communication skills in English.
· Certification in HSE (NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH) is highly desirable.
