- Develop design solutions (including but not limited to quote cards, infographics, 2D animated GIFs, banners, photo stories, illustrative cards, etc.) for use on WHO Afghanistan official social/digital media, in formats and sizes suitable for each platform (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, website, etc.).
- Develop design products (posters, brochures, leaflets, factsheets, PowerPoint presentations, etc.) and visual identities in compliance with WHO Afghanistan design and branding standards for public health campaigns and events.
- Conceptualize and develop diverse design approaches/proposals based on in-depth analysis of technical topics; discuss and resolve creative aspects of design projects.
- Conduct reviews and artistic evaluations of design projects; anticipate release dates and understand the complexity of messages and/or visual images the organization wants to portray, especially on social media and other digital platforms.
- Develop all designs in electronic format for final review and approval by supervisors or technical focal points; prepare materials for production and distribution, including print, web, and electronic outputs; create detailed presentations of each design proposal; ensure harmony between printed, web, and electronic materials.
- Prepare professional, ready-to-print files for printed materials and provide guidance and support throughout the production process, including quality control.
- Stay up to date with new design trends and the latest technologies in branding, print and digital design, and publishing.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications Requirements:
Education:
Essential: Completion of secondary education supplemented by relevant training/s.
Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in arts (graphic design/multimedia), communications, or a related field.
Experience:
Essential: At least 10 years of experience working in the field of graphic design. Some publishing experience in an international organization or major corporation body. (time component)
Desirable: Experience in WHO or UN agencies, or organizations and NGOs, preferably on health-related issues.
Functional skills and knowledge:
· Adequate technical knowledge to the field of graphic design
· Experience and knowledge of social media platforms and strategies
· Excellent drafting and editing skills
· Good organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and responsibilities
· Interest in and knowledge of the work of WHO, international development and communications
· Ability to work well in teams, cooperate well with others and take direction and feedback
· Excellent knowledge of design and video editing software
· Flexible, responsible, detail-oriented, self-motivated

- Written and spoken fluency in English, Pashto and Dari is essential.
