Finance Manager

duties

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards (IFRS, GAAP).
  • Conduct variance analysis on actual vs. budgeted performance, providing explanations for key discrepancies.
  • Develop and present financial reports and dashboards for senior management and stakeholders.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to set financial goals and targets.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and projections based on historical data, current trends, and business needs.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, highlighting potential issues and recommending corrective actions.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Manage cash flow, ensuring the company has adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Develop and monitor cash flow forecasts, identifying any cash shortfalls or surpluses.
  • Manage working capital and ensure optimal use of financial resources.

Financial Controls & Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce strong internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate governance standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring smooth audit processes and timely filing of financial statements.

Cost Management:

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities across the business and provide recommendations for improving operational efficiency.
  • Monitor departmental spending, ensuring alignment with budgeted financial goals.
  • Assess and control overhead costs to improve profitability.

Strategic Financial Support:

  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decision-making, including investment opportunities, capital expenditures, and mergers/acquisitions.
  • Assist in the development of business strategies by evaluating financial performance, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.
  • Partner with other departments to assess financial performance and implement financial strategies aligned with the company’s goals.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior finance staff, providing guidance on financial analysis and reporting.
  • Conduct performance reviews and recommend professional development opportunities for the finance team.
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment within the finance department.


qualification

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.


Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office tools.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Desirable Skills:

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working in a diversified company or conglomerate is a plus.
  • Financial Modeling: Expertise in creating and analyzing financial models for forecasting and valuation.
  • ERP Systems: Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, particularly in large organizations.


Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with occasional overtime during peak financial periods (e.g., year-end closing, audits).
  • Based in Kabul and visit to other provinces, with potential travel requirements depending on business needs.
